While public relations inspiration can be found in many places, take a look at these movie quotes when working on your next campaign or project.

1) “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.” – The Godfather, 1972

This iconic quote from the classic film “The Godfather” sheds light on working with influencers. When considering adding an influencer to your PR campaign, it’s important to make the offer stand out, and not just financially. Influencers should want to join your team because of the reputation your company holds.

2) “Why so serious?” – The Dark Knight, 2008

While this line is delivered by a villain, The Joker, this quote can influence the way you structure your next pitch or news release. It may depend on the client you’re pitching for or source you are pitching to, but sometimes writing in a comical or punny way can increase the chances of your story being picked up as well as separate your client from other competitors.

3) “What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.” – Cool Hand Luke, 1967

There is no doubt that communication can help or hinder your campaign. When lack of communication catches up with you too late, it can feel like your entire campaign has crumbled. Failure to communicate within your team and with your client can lead to failure. Communication is arguably the most important part of your campaign … That way you and your client will remain pleased with the results.

4) “Just keep swimming.” – Finding Nemo, 2003

Campaigns can be hard, whether you’re dealing with a difficult client, confused about what direction to take your campaign or struggling to communicate well with your team. It is important not to lose your public relations inspiration. Dory’s iconic line from the children’s film “Finding Nemo” can show people how important it is to stay excited and driven to work on a project.

5) “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” – Jaws, 1975

When getting involved in a project or campaign, it can be easy to underestimate the amount of work you or your team can do on its own. One of the most valuable traits someone can have is the ability to ask for help. Use this quote from “Jaws” to remember that asking for help is OK.
