1. Tell us a bit about your public relations experience so far.
Recently, I served as the communication and marketing assistant at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Inc. (ASLMS). I am always busy creating news releases, marketing plans, and managing their social media and numerous other tasks. I enjoy the fast-paced environment and being able to see positive results. I had my first news release published by BioOptics Online, which was very exciting to see. ASLMS provided me with a great opportunity to take on more challenging tasks that other entry level positions did not necessarily allow. I am looking forward to being able to apply what I learned from this experience.
2. What were some of the most intriguing attractions that you promoted while working for the Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Center?
As public relations assistant at the Stevens Point Convention and Visitors Center (SPCVC) I had an opportunity to promote Walk Wisconsin, the premier walking event in the Midwest, Farm Technology Days and the unique attractions in the Stevens Point area. It was nice getting to know the community and seeing all the events become a huge success.
3. Why are you motivated to move to the Twin Cities area?
I am looking forward to expanding my horizons in the Twin Cities area to advance my career and become a valuable asset to an organization. It is a beautiful area with many great opportunities and plenty to do. It will be a new and exciting experience.
4. What would be your ideal job in the Twin Cities?
My ideal job would challenge my capabilities and would be rewarding. I enjoy fast-paced environments where every day is different and exciting. I would like to pursue a career in event coordinating in the future.
5. Which social media project that you worked on are you most proud of?
The social media project that I am most proud of is creating the first social media content calendar and marketing plan for the ASLMS. After four months of managing their social media platforms, I increased their Facebook likes to 700+, a 145% increase in just three months. I strive to gain positive results.
6. What is your desired career path?
In the next couple years I would like to keep gaining valuable experience and work my way into a management position. As of right now, I am open to any type of industry, for profit or non-profit, agency or corporate. I do have a passion for fashion and beauty and would thrive in those industries.
